一直想買一把 Fender 的P-Bass, 試過幾把都不怎麼滿意.

本來想買這把白色的 Fender Precision Bass '57 RI 再製品 (投機者的最早貝斯手Nokie Edwards 用此型號, 但是漸淡色), 猶豫一下, 被別人買走了.



昨天有人在Craigslist上賣把拼湊的P-Bass. 用的都是好材料. 據賣者說這把完全是按 James Jamerson 62年的P-Bass打造的. 我說過我想學Soul貝斯不是正好嗎?

賣者因為得了糖尿病手指麻不能彈所以便宜賣掉. 今天我打電話去, 大家談自己喜歡的樂風, 他喜歡60年代初的Motown, 我喜歡60年代的沖浪. 有個共同點, 聊的很投機. 他說你今天就來我再減 $50. 退休在家就有這個好處, 我馬上就開車去了.

賣家Mark住在組裝屋公園 Trailers Park. 家很小, 養三隻狗, 家有點凌亂髒髒的 , 看來不是有錢人, 他是個大漢, 長的橫眉大臉, 扎個馬尾, 手臂都是刺青. 如果晚上在小巷碰到他, 會讓你有點害怕.

但來前講過電話, 見面再繼續音樂話題, 我倒覺得和他很談的來. 他因為生病申請傷殘在家, 也許沒人講話, 很喜歡和人聊天. 仔細的解說這把琴. 果然像全新. 彈奏手感不錯. 琴頸比我習慣的Jazz Bass粗寬, 我相信可以克服. 他只有個10W小Hartke貝斯音箱, 試不太出音色, 看來電子零件都OK, 就決定買下來.

Mark是很夠意思的人, 貝斯價格便宜不說. 還送我兩個Fender貝斯 & 吉他袋子, 一條肩帶(還是龍的設計圖案), 肩帶瑣扣, 一條Monster 的貝斯連線. 一盒貝斯匹克, 兩張CD. 如果不是因為沙漠嫂在車上等, 我還會和他多聊一下. 回家用我的音箱試, 非常滿意.



在Craigslist 買賣吉他貝斯這麼多年, 有時碰到一些看來有錢卻斤斤計較的買家, 我很不喜歡和這種人打交道, 寧可不賣他們. 今天讓我的感覺卻是窮人反而大方爽快.
